GPT-6 Adds Interactive Responses to ChatGPT as Intelligent UI Rolls Out

ChatGPT can now turn some answers into interactive charts, diagrams, maps, and small tools. GPT-6 is rolling out across paid and free plans, with different model versions for each.

ChatGPT’s next interface change is not another chat window with a more persuasive paragraph. With GPT-6 and Intelligent UI, some answers can arrive as charts, diagrams, maps, buttons, forms, or small tools that users can interact with directly.

Answers you can use

Intelligent UI lets GPT-6 choose a format to match a request. A comparison might become a table, a complex explanation an interactive diagram, and a practical calculation a tool with changeable settings. If plain text is enough, ChatGPT can stick with plain text. Not every question needs a control panel.

Demonstrations included diagrams with interactive buttons, maps with selectable items, and expense calculators with sliders. Other examples included splitting a bill, games, visual comparisons, and interactive instructions. Users can change inputs and see the result update, rather than asking for a fresh explanation after every adjustment.

OpenAI has also built a library of interface components and a compiler that can show parts of an interface while the answer is still being generated. GPT-6 can begin responding before all its computations are complete, then add information as it continues working or uses tools, without requiring another prompt. OpenAI describes the rollout as bringing faster responses, though the available reports give no timing figures.

A phased rollout

The global rollout began on October 7 for ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise. Those plans use GPT-6 Sol. On October 8, access began expanding to Free and Go users, who receive GPT-6 Luna. The rollout is gradual, so the model may not appear in every account at once.

GPT-6 Astra is described separately as a model for professional scenarios. It is not part of the general model assignment described for paid plans and Free or Go.

Where Intelligent UI works

The feature works on the ChatGPT website and supported, updated apps. Older ChatGPT desktop apps for Windows and macOS do not support it, so users of those versions can use the website instead. On phones, the latest available app version is needed.

There is no separate usage allowance for Intelligent UI. Its use falls under the ordinary limits for the selected plan and model. In the web version, users who prefer simpler answers can choose a simpler mode under Layout and visuals in settings, though the visual elements cannot be turned off entirely.

The practical shift is modest but meaningful: ChatGPT can offer a working interface when a block of prose would leave the user doing the calculations by hand. The answer is no longer always just something to read. Sometimes it is something to operate, which also gives users one more reason to check what it is doing.

The cheese has holes. Your infrastructure should not.
